Custody and Records Contacts
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and its Administration Division are the starting points for county jail and booking questions. Public hours listed by the sheriff are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central. The current records policy requires qualifying requests and proof of Alabama domicile to be delivered in person.

Choose the office by the type and stage of the record:
- For a booking record or photograph, start with the countywide records guide and contact the sheriff’s Administration Division.
- For a fresh county booking, follow the Daily Arrest Report path and verify with the sheriff if the official page is empty.
- For older publication entries, use the Weekly Arrest Log and the records-request route.
- For release or transfer alerts, use the free VINELink Inmate Check.
- For an Auburn or Opelika incident report, contact the police department that created it; Smiths Station calls generally route through county systems.
- For case outcomes and copies, use the Lee County Circuit Clerk and Alabama trial-court services.
- For sentenced state prisoners, use the Alabama Department of Corrections search; federal and immigration custody require BOP or ICE.
